India, US jointly smash global racketeering ring

Intro

India cooperated with global law enforcement to dismantle an international crime network, resulting in 37 racketeering charges.

WASHINGTON

Indian authorities have actively cooperated with the United States and global law enforcement to smash a massive international crime network. The major breakthrough resulted in sweeping racketeering charges against three dangerous organized crime groups operating across multiple continents.

The successful collaboration was highlighted after US officials announced charges against 37 suspects linked to syndicates accused of murder, kidnapping, extortion, and large-scale drug trafficking across North America and Europe. A total of 24 suspects have already been arrested under a multinational crackdown named “Operation Hard Ball.”

Royal Canadian Mounted Police Deputy Commissioner Lisa Moreland confirmed that the Indian government assisted investigators during the complex, years-long probe. She emphasized that Canadian police worked shoulder-to-shoulder with the FBI and global partners, calling India’s cooperation a model for what international law enforcement strives to achieve.

The investigation successfully unmasked three notorious criminal syndicates allegedly led by Lawrence Bishnoi, Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, and Ravinder Singh Dhanda. Prosecutors revealed a shocking operational method, both Bishnoi and Bhagwanpuria allegedly directed their violent global empires right from their Indian jail cells using smuggled mobile phones. Their associates then carried out deadly assignments on the streets of the US, Canada, and Europe.

Police leaders noted that modern technology has made organized crime completely borderless, making international teamwork absolutely essential. No single country can fight these sophisticated syndicates alone.

The massive operation brought together the FBI, the Canadian Mounties, the Los Angeles Police Department, and law enforcement agencies from Spain and several other nations. Crucial ground support was also provided by the FBI’s diplomatic offices stationed in New Delhi, Ottawa, Madrid, and Mexico City.

Sending a fierce warning to global gang leaders, officials declared that no matter where criminals hide in the world, international agencies now possess the unified tools and tracking networks to hunt them down and bring them to justice.
