Members of the Horakeri Mastara Education Foundation, Ranichannamma Environmental Service Committee, and Basava Environmental Protection Committee paid heartfelt tribute to Swami Vivekananda on his memorial day. They garlanded his statue and remembered his valuable teachings with devotion and respect during a special programme held in the city.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Suresh D. Horakeri said Swami Vivekananda inspired generations of young people through his ideas, courage, and spiritual wisdom. He urged students to read Vivekananda’s books, understand his life, and follow his principles in their daily lives. He said self confidence, discipline, and dedication could help young people achieve success and serve the nation with pride.
Dr. Horakeri also said Swami Vivekananda spread the teachings of Bhagwan Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa across the world and worked for the welfare of humanity. He suggested that Vivekananda’s inspiring thoughts should receive greater importance in educational courses so students could learn valuable life lessons from an early age.
Principal Dr. D.K. Waghmode, Librarian Dr. Preeti S. Patil, NSS Programme Officer Dr. Netravati Gabbur, Channabasappa Dharwadshettar, Karthikeya S. Vastrad, NSS volunteers, students, and several office bearers of different organisations attended the programme.
