MLA calls for active participation in voter list revision

Dr Beldale said voter list campaign aims to correct errors and register eligible new voters through verification

BIDAR

Bidar South MLA and BJP State Secretary Dr. Shailendra Beldale has appealed to all eligible citizens to actively participate in the Special Voters’ List Revision (SIR) campaign being conducted by the Election Commission. He said that voting is a precious constitutional right and must be protected through an accurate and updated voter list.

He made the appeal after taking part in the Special Voters’ List Revision process at his home office in polling booth number 61 of Chitta Wadi village in Bidar South constituency. During the process, officials provided him with the voter list revision application form, and necessary details were filled and submitted.

Dr. Beldale said the main aim of the campaign is to correct errors in the voter list by verifying names, addresses, ages, and other details. He added that eligible new voters are also being given an opportunity to register their names under this exercise.

He urged every voter to check whether their details are correctly entered in the list and make corrections if needed. He also encouraged newly eligible voters to take advantage of the campaign and ensure their names are included in the electoral roll.

He said that a clean, accurate, and transparent voter list is essential for strengthening democracy. Therefore, he called upon the public to take part in the SIR campaign in large numbers and help safeguard their voting rights.

Officials including the tahsildar, revenue department staff, food and civil supplies officers, and Booth Level Officers were present during the revision process. The MLA’s media coordinator and assistant also participated in the programme.
