India’s E20 ethanol blending program successful: BPCL Dir.

MUMBAI

India’s E20 ethanol blending program is a highly successful, multi-year initiative built on deep stakeholder cooperation, stated former BPCL director R. Ramachandran. Oil firms, automakers, and scientists successfully aligned technical and policy goals to roll out the 20% ethanol-gasoline blend. While future options like E85 are being explored alongside flex-fuel technology, they remain unofficial. Addressing environmental concerns, Ramachandran urged industries to adopt near-100% water recycling and air-cooling systems. He concluded that diversifying crude imports over the last six years has strongly secured India’s energy sector against global geopolitical disruptions.
