CM Siddaramaiah’s visits to Bidar, focus on development review

CM Siddaramaiah’s Bidar visit to review development works, farmers’ issues and regional project progress in Kalyana Karnataka region

BIDAR

Karnataka Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Eshwar Khandre has said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s upcoming visit to Bidar will focus on development priorities, farmers’ welfare, and the progress of key infrastructure and cultural projects in the Kalyana Karnataka region.

Khandre said the Chief Minister’s first stop will be Basavakalyan, where he will inspect the ongoing construction of the Anubhava Mantapa and review its progress. The site, which holds historical and spiritual significance linked to the 12th-century social reform movement, is among the flagship projects being developed in the region.

After the Basavakalyan inspection, Siddaramaiah is scheduled to arrive in Bidar to attend a Congress party workers’ meeting. He will later proceed to Kalaburagi to chair a divisional-level progress review meeting involving officials and elected representatives from the region.

Highlighting the concerns of the agrarian community, Khandre said the Chief Minister will also review the prevailing rainfall deficit and drought-like conditions affecting large parts of Kalyana Karnataka. Farmers’ representatives are expected to present grievances related to delayed sowing, water scarcity, and crop losses during the review meetings.

The minister reiterated the government’s commitment to accelerating development in the region and ensuring timely completion of major projects, including the Anubhava Mantapa, which he said is targeted for completion before the next Basava Jayanti.

Khandre also urged citizens to adopt water conservation measures in view of the weak monsoon. He appealed for responsible usage of water resources, stressing that collective effort is essential to manage the ongoing rainfall deficit.

He further expressed condolences over the death of a Booth Level Officer (BLO) who reportedly suffered a heart attack while on voter list revision duty. Calling it a tragic incident, he said the government stands with the bereaved family and has advised officials and staff to avoid excessive workload and prioritize health while performing election-related duties.

The visit is expected to include discussions on development acceleration, irrigation concerns, and administrative coordination across the Kalyana Karnataka districts.
