The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Dakshina Kannada district is progressing rapidly, with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) carrying out door-to-door visits to distribute and digitise Enumeration Forms as part of the Election Commission of India’s statewide exercise.

According to the District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner’s office, the campaign commenced on June 30 and will continue until July 29. BLOs are visiting every household across the district to distribute Enumeration Forms to eligible voters and upload the collected information through the digitisation process.

Dakshina Kannada has a total of 18,03,766 registered voters spread across 1,876 polling stations. So far, 2,11,200 Enumeration Forms have been distributed, accounting for 11.71 per cent of the electorate. Of these, 5,945 forms, or 0.33 per cent, have already been digitised.

Among the eight Assembly constituencies, Moodbidri has recorded the highest number of forms distributed, with 31,795 forms reaching voters. Belthangady leads in digitisation, with 2,441 forms uploaded to the electoral database.

Mangaluru City North has distributed 25,145 forms, while Mangaluru City South has covered 29,296 voters. The Mangaluru Assembly constituency has distributed 27,703 forms, followed by Bantwal with 25,061, Puttur with 23,076 and Sullia with 24,833 forms.

The district administration said the exercise is progressing according to schedule, with election officials intensifying field visits to ensure every eligible voter is covered before the July 29 deadline.

Officials added that the revision aims to update electoral rolls by verifying voter details, removing inaccuracies and ensuring all eligible citizens are included. The administration expressed confidence that the campaign will gather further momentum in the coming weeks and achieve its target of completing the revision process within the stipulated timeframe through coordinated efforts by election staff and Booth Level Officers across the district.
