Rise Karnataka opposes SIR revision process

Chikkamagaluru

The Rise Karnataka organisation has strongly opposed the revision of the Special Electoral Roll (SIR), calling the process undemocratic. Speaking to the media, leader Ghouse Mohideen alleged that the Election Commission’s distribution of forms raises questions about fairness and transparency. He said around 118 progressive organisations, including Edelu Karnataka, have been protesting for the past six months. The group welcomed recent government orders issued by Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and demanded help desks and documentation support for citizens. Mohideen also claimed the process could disenfranchise poor voters lacking valid records and urged protection of constitutional voting rights.
