Koppal
Former India cricket captain and legendary batsman Rahul Dravid visited the sacred Anjanadri Hills in Koppal district along with his family and offered special prayers to Lord Hanuman, drawing attention from devotees and visitors at the popular pilgrimage site.
Dravid climbed 575 steps to reach the hilltop shrine and performed rituals at the temple, seeking blessings during his visit. Temple authorities said the former cricketer spent time at the sanctum and participated in special puja rituals before offering prayers.
The visit is part of a spiritual tour across Hampi and surrounding heritage sites. A day earlier, Dravid had visited Hampi and offered prayers at the Virupaksha Temple. He also visited Sasekal Ganesha and Hemakuta Hill, both important heritage and religious landmarks in the region.
During his continued tour, Dravid further visited several other temples including Krishna Temple, Ugra Narasimha Temple and Badavilinga Shrine. In the afternoon, he proceeded to the Chitrakote (Chakratheertha) Kodandarama Temple, Yantrodharaka Anjaneya Temple and Achyutaraya Temple, where he offered prayers and spent time observing the historic architecture.
Devotees at Anjanadri expressed excitement at spotting the cricketing icon, though the visit remained peaceful and private with no official public event organized. Temple staff ensured smooth arrangements for his darshan.
Anjanadri Hills is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Hanuman and attracts thousands of pilgrims every year, especially during weekends and religious occasions.
Dravid’s visit has drawn attention on social media, with many sharing images and expressing admiration for his simple and spiritual gesture during his Karnataka tour.
