F1 drivers will tackle Silverstone in full-size Lego electric cars before the British Grand Prix, bringing playful pre-race chaos despite Lewis Hamilton’s lighthearted hesitation.

Formula One drivers are gearing up for a unique challenge ahead of the British Grand Prix. Racers will lap the famous Silverstone circuit in life-size mini-cars built entirely out of Lego bricks. While many young drivers are thrilled, seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton initially showed little enthusiasm for the stunt.
When asked about the parade, the British Ferrari driver jokingly called it the most dangerous part of the weekend. Last year in Miami, a similar Lego event resulted in multiple hilarious collisions that left toy bricks scattered across the track. Despite his hesitation, Ferrari later confirmed that Hamilton will participate alongside his eager teammate, Charles Leclerc, for the weekend’s scheduled chaos.
Other drivers are openly excited about the playful challenge. McLaren’s world champion, Lando Norris, admitted he is looking forward to the event, noting that simply making it back to the finish line intact would feel like a major victory.
These incredible vehicles are far from simple toys. A specialized team of twenty builders in the Czech Republic spent over 6,400 hours constructing the fleet. Each vehicle weighs around 280 kilograms and features more than 28,000 individual Lego bricks. Decorated in official 2026 team colors and driver numbers, the electric cars run on standard go-kart wheels. They can reach a maximum speed of 25 kilometers per hour, offering a slow and joyful spectacle for fans before the real high-speed racing begins.
