The life and legacy of celebrated author Amrutha Someshwara were honored during a special commemorative program held at the Parigyan College auditorium. The event, organized by the Ullal Veera Rani Abbakka Utsav Samiti in collaboration with Parigyan Pre-University College, celebrated his immense contributions to literature and culture.

Dr. K. Chinnappa Gowda, retired Vice-Chancellor of Haveri University, served as the chief guest. He described Someshwara as one of the most significant writers of the modern era. “Amrutha Someshwara, who built literary and cultural arts, brought great fame to this town,” Dr. Gowda remarked, linking his cultural impact to the historic significance of the legendary fighter Veera Rani Abbakka.

The tribute highlighted Someshwara’s dual role as a profound author and a dedicated educator. Having taught for 24 years, he acted as a mentor to countless students. Dr. Gowda urged the audience to study his literature, noting that his writings serve as a moral compass for building a meaningful life.

The event featured a variety of tributes, including a multilingual poetry gathering and readings. Prizes were awarded to students who excelled in speeches honoring both Someshwara and Abbakka. Presided over by former MLA K. Jayaram Shetty, the gathering was attended by numerous dignitaries, educators, and local leaders. The celebration served as a powerful reminder of how Someshwara’s guidance and artistic vision continue to shape and inspire the local community.
