Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio programme, Mann Ki Baat, describing it as a powerful platform that brings national attention to the achievements of individuals whose remarkable contributions often remain unnoticed.
He said the programme has become an effective medium for highlighting positive stories, encouraging innovation, and inspiring citizens across the country.
The Chief Minister made the remarks after listening to the 135th edition of Mann Ki Baat at a public event in Roorkee, where he was joined by senior officials, public representatives, and local dignitaries. Reflecting on the latest broadcast, Dhami noted that the Prime Minister discussed several important issues, including the World Yoga Asana Championship held in Gujarat on the occasion of International Yoga Day.
According to Dhami, the Prime Minister highlighted the accomplishments of talented yoga practitioners who had not received adequate recognition in the past. He said that through Mann Ki Baat, such individuals are now being acknowledged at the national level, motivating others to pursue excellence in their respective fields.
Describing the programme as more than just a monthly radio address, the Chief Minister said it has evolved into a meaningful platform that celebrates the positive work being carried out by ordinary citizens across the country. He added that the programme encourages people to contribute towards nation-building while reinforcing values such as innovation, hard work, environmental awareness, and social responsibility.
Dhami remarked that Prime Minister Modi has consistently used the platform to recognise people from diverse backgrounds who have made valuable contributions in areas such as education, sports, culture, environmental conservation, agriculture, science, and public service. He said many talented individuals who previously remained unknown have now gained national and even international recognition through the programme.
Highlighting the significance of the latest broadcast, the Chief Minister pointed out that it marked the 135th edition of Mann Ki Baat. He described the achievement as a remarkable milestone and said that Prime Minister Modi is the first global leader to have delivered such a large number of regular public broadcasts through a single programme. He expressed confidence that the initiative would continue to connect with citizens and inspire positive change in the years ahead.
Dhami also stated that Mann Ki Baat has motivated people to embrace healthy lifestyles, particularly through the promotion of yoga and respect for the dignity of labour. He observed that by showcasing inspiring stories from different parts of the country, the programme has boosted the morale of many individuals and encouraged wider public participation in developmental activities.
