More than a decade after Sindh introduced the Domestic Violence (Prevention and Protection) Act, 2013, violence against women continues due to poor enforcement and weak investigations. Many victims avoid filing complaints because of family pressure and lack of police support. According to rights groups, 204 domestic violence cases were reported in the first half of 2025. While 98 cases reached courts and 70 went to trial, no convictions were recorded. Activists have called for stronger investigations, better enforcement, and more female police officers to handle such cases
