Local farmers can now register for the Karnataka Raitha Suraksha Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana for the upcoming monsoon season. Managed by IndusInd General Insurance, the scheme protects paddy crops against natural disasters like landslides and floods. Farmers must pay a premium of ₹611.91 per acre to secure an insurance cover of ₹30,595.32. To apply, farmers need to bring their identity card, land records, bank passbook, and a sowing certificate to any local bank or government center. Loan-holding farmers can choose to opt out by notifying their bank a week before the deadline.
