Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar has directed officials to resolve all technical and administrative issues ahead of the upcoming Cabinet meeting scheduled to be held in Mangaluru, stressing the need for smooth execution and efficient coordination.
According to reports, Shivakumar reviewed preparations related to infrastructure, logistics and digital systems to ensure there are no disruptions during the high-profile Cabinet session. He instructed departments concerned to address pending technical glitches and strengthen arrangements in advance.
The directive comes as the state government prepares to hold the Cabinet meeting outside Bengaluru, part of its broader effort to decentralise governance and engage with regional development issues more closely.
Officials have been asked to ensure that communication systems, presentation infrastructure and administrative support mechanisms are fully functional before the meeting. The focus, according to sources, is on avoiding delays or disruptions in decision-making due to technical shortcomings.
Shivakumar also emphasised the importance of coordination between departments and district administration to ensure seamless arrangements for ministers, officials and visiting delegations.
The Mangaluru Cabinet meeting is expected to cover key regional development issues, including infrastructure projects, coastal Karnataka initiatives and administrative reforms. Preparations are underway to ensure security, logistics and public convenience measures are in place for the event.
Government sources said that holding Cabinet meetings outside the capital is aimed at improving regional engagement and bringing governance closer to the people. The initiative also allows the government to directly review district-level challenges and expedite policy decisions.
Officials are continuing preparatory work as the date approaches, with a focus on ensuring that both technical and logistical systems are fully operational before the Cabinet convenes.
