The inspection was aimed at assessing the scope for environmental improvement, beautification, and enhanced public utility of the lake area.
During the visit, Dr. Rajendra emphasized the importance of preserving urban water bodies while transforming them into accessible and sustainable public spaces for residents. Following the lake inspection, the Commissioner reviewed pedestrian infrastructure in Yediyur and Basavanagudi wards. The visit was part of the corporation’s ambitious initiative to develop 10 kilometres of pedestrian pathways across all wards within a month. The project aims to promote safer and more accessible walking environments for residents while encouraging sustainable modes of urban mobility.
During the inspection, officials assessed the condition of existing footpaths and identified areas requiring improvement. The Commissioner instructed engineers and field staff to ensure that pedestrian pathways are designed with safety, accessibility, and convenience in mind. Special attention is expected to be given to improving walkability in densely populated residential and commercial areas.
As part of the day’s review activities, Dr. Rajendra also visited Modi Hospital in Basavanagudi ward. During the visit, he examined the healthcare services being provided to the public and reviewed the hospital’s infrastructure and facilities. He emphasized the need to maintain high standards of public health infrastructure and ensure efficient delivery of medical services to citizens.
Senior officials accompanied the Commissioner during the inspections, including Chief Engineer Basavaraj Kabade, Executive Engineers, Assistant Engineers, and Health Department representatives. Their presence facilitated on-site discussions regarding project implementation and service improvements.
