Teacher dies after falling from Rapido bike in Bengaluru

A 54-year-old school teacher died after accidentally falling from a Rapido bike-taxi while returning home in Bengaluru’s JP Nagar area, police said on Tuesday. The victim, S. Radha, a teacher at Delhi Public School (South) and a resident of Arakere, had visited friends and relatives in Nagarabhavi and booked a Rapido ride to return home. The bike was being ridden by a woman captain. According to police, the accident occurred near Nandini Junction on 24th Main Road when Radha, who was seated side-saddle with both legs on one side, lost balance and fell from the moving two-wheeler. The rider also fell during the incident. Both women were wearing half-helmets. Radha suffered severe injuries to her forehead and nose, leading to internal bleeding. She was rushed to a nearby private hospital but succumbed to her injuries. Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
