The 124th anniversary celebrations of Saint Anthony were held with great religious fervour and community participation at St Anthony’s Church, TC Palya, in KR Pura. The nine-day festival featured special prayers, religious programmes and devotional hymn singing, drawing large numbers of devotees. A flower-decked palanquin carrying the statue of Saint Anthony was taken in a procession through the main streets of the locality. Devotees from KR Pura, Basavanapura, Banaswadi and Ramamurthynagar participated in the celebrations, carrying candles and offering prayers. Church priest Father C. Francis said the festival was notable for attracting devotees from all communities, reflecting unity, peace and harmony. MLA Bairati Basavaraj and BJP leaders Praveen and Anthony Swamy attended the event.
