A 78-year-old man lost a gold ring worth over ₹50,000 after being tricked by a stranger who offered him a lift during a rainy evening in west Bengaluru. Police said K. Sathyanarayana Rao was returning home from an evening walk on Muddinapalya Main Road when an unidentified man on a scooter, accompanied by a child, offered to drop him near Solapuradamma Temple. After Rao accepted the lift, the stranger pretended to admire the design of his gold ring and asked to examine it closely. Once Rao handed over the ring, the man sped away on his scooter. A case has been registered and police are investigating the incident.
