MLA Veerendra Pappi pledges village development works

Chitradurga MLA K C Veerendra Pappi has said that his main goal is the development of every village in the constituency and assured that he will continue working for public welfare beyond his term in office.

He was speaking after performing bhoomi puja for several development works in Sondekol village of Kakkere gram panchayat limits in the taluk on Sunday.

The MLA said that the people of the constituency have trusted him and given him the responsibility of serving them, and it is his duty to ensure overall development in all villages under the Chitradurga Assembly constituency.

He said that necessary infrastructure such as CC roads, drainage systems, drinking water facilities, electric lights, and rural connectivity roads are being developed in a phased manner using special grants obtained from the state government.

He added that he has been actively approaching the Chief Minister to secure additional funds for development works and ensure that no village is left behind in basic infrastructure development.

Under the 2024–25 relief and development programme, he said that Rs 20 lakh has been sanctioned for Oni road development in Sondekol village, Rs 55 lakh for CC road and drainage works in the SC colony of Kakkere village, and Rs 40 lakh for similar works in the ST colony.

He further stated that the government is prioritising rural development and that several works are already in progress, while remaining projects will be taken up in phases.

The MLA also said that farmers remain the backbone of the country and added that proposals have been submitted for the construction of check dams in various parts of the constituency to support irrigation and agriculture.

Guarantee Scheme Committee district president Shivanna said that the government has implemented several welfare programmes for the poor, including Grihalakshmi, Gruha Jyoti, and free bus travel for women, which are helping improve livelihoods.

Villager Masirappa of Sondekol said that long-pending development works are finally being taken up and expressed gratitude to the MLA for addressing local issues.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA K C Veerendra Pappi said, “I am ready to work with sufficient funds for the development of the area, but do not pay attention to false accusations. My main objective is to develop the Chitradurga Assembly constituency. I have the power to work with the Chief Minister by bringing special funds.”
