Rowdy sheeter shot in leg during police operation in Bengaluru

BENGALURU

A rowdy sheeter was shot in the leg by police during an operation in the early hours of Thursday after he allegedly attempted to attack police personnel in Singena Agrahara under the Hebbagodi police limits. The accused, identified as Jeeva, a resident of Tirupalya, is reportedly involved in several criminal cases, including murder, extortion and robbery. Police said they had been searching for him in connection with recent robberies reported in the Hebbagodi and Electronic City areas. Acting on specific information, a police team conducted a raid. During the operation, Jeeva allegedly attacked constable Nagesh with a deadly weapon. In response, Sub-Inspector Ayyappa fired at the accused, hitting him in the leg. The injured accused was admitted to a private hospital for treatment. A case has been registered at Hebbagodi Police Station and further investigation is underway.
