Mudigere
A case has been registered at Mudigere after a student alleged blackmail and an attempted sexual assault, police said. The case has been filed under the POCSO Act based on a complaint that several individuals used objectionable photos to threaten and harass the victim. According to police, five people have been named in the complaint, and four have been arrested while investigation is ongoing. Earlier, one of the accused, a youth from Belur, was already arrested and sent to judicial custody in connection with related charges. Officials said the accused allegedly used images stored on a mobile phone to blackmail the student, leading to further legal action after the complaint was filed. Further investigation is underway.
