India has achieved significant progress across economic, social and infrastructure sectors during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 12 years in office, according to the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The industry body said reforms, efficient governance and a focus on inclusive development have strengthened the country’s resilience, competitiveness and global standing.

Congratulating Prime Minister Modi on completing 12 years of leadership, CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee said India has emerged as one of the world’s leading economies and a confident voice on the global stage during this period.

“I convey my heartfelt congratulations to PM Modi on the completion of 12 years of transformative leadership,” Banerjee said, highlighting the government’s efforts in driving economic growth and national development.

He noted that over the past decade, India has made substantial progress in areas such as inclusive economic development, infrastructure creation, innovation, entrepreneurship and social welfare. According to him, these initiatives have helped improve the quality of life for millions of citizens while creating a stronger foundation for long-term growth.

Banerjee said the government’s emphasis on reforms, efficient administration and inclusive growth has enhanced India’s economic resilience and competitiveness. These measures have also generated new opportunities for businesses, investors and entrepreneurs, contributing to higher confidence in the country’s growth prospects.

The CII Director General further stated that Indian industry has benefited from an enabling business environment supported by sustained economic expansion, policy reforms and a strong push towards innovation and self-reliance. He added that the benefits of development have reached wider sections of society, promoting more balanced and inclusive growth.

Looking ahead, Banerjee reaffirmed industry’s commitment to partnering with the government in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047. He said businesses would continue to support efforts aimed at sustainable development, innovation, job creation and economic resilience.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Modi became India’s longest-serving Prime Minister, completing 4,399 days in office and surpassing the record previously held by former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. Several Union ministers also hailed the milestone, describing it as a reflection of public trust in his leadership.
