Union ministers on Tuesday lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 12 years in office, highlighting achievements in welfare, infrastructure, financial inclusion, economic growth, and citizen-centric governance. They said the government’s initiatives have transformed lives and strengthened India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation under the vision of Viksit Bharat.
Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal stated that the last twelve years established new benchmarks in service, good governance, and public welfare. He noted that schemes focused on poverty alleviation, women’s empowerment, farmer welfare, youth opportunities, modern infrastructure, and national security have contributed significantly to India’s progress.
According to figures shared by Goyal, more than 81 crore citizens receive free foodgrains every month, while over four crore houses have been sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He also highlighted the opening of crores of Jan Dhan accounts for women, support to self-help groups, expansion of metro networks across major cities, operation of 164 Vande Bharat trains, growth in airports, and the rise of over 2.2 lakh startups nationwide.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman emphasized that the government’s guiding principle has been “Jan Seva Se Jan Shakti.” She said initiatives over the years have focused on empowering citizens through inclusion, innovation, and opportunity. She pointed to the success of the Jan Dhan Yojana, under which more than 58 crore bank accounts have been opened, along with substantial growth in deposits. She also highlighted assistance provided to street vendors through the PM SVANidhi scheme.
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said public welfare has remained at the center of governance, helping India advance across infrastructure, digital transformation, women’s empowerment, and global outreach. Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri described Modi as a leader committed to service, saying his vision and dedication have helped lay the foundation for a confident and developed India.
