BJP state chief B.Y. Vijayendra attacked Congress, predicting early Karnataka elections if Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is replaced.

BJP State President B.Y. Vijayendra launched a scathing attack on the ruling Congress party, predicting that any alternative Chief Minister chosen to replace Siddaramaiah would only hold a temporary position, ultimately paving the way for early assembly elections in Karnataka.
According to reports, Vijayendra claimed that the Congress high command has officially set the wheels in motion to remove Siddaramaiah, citing the total failure of the state administration. Referring to a high-stakes, five-hour marathon meeting held in New Delhi, the BJP chief asserted that the party’s central leadership has formally approved the resignation of Siddaramaiah, who is deeply mired in corruption allegations.
“I bear no personal hatred toward Siddaramaiah. He is undoubtedly an experienced leader. However, during his tenure, Karnataka’s debt has ballooned to a record-breaking Rs 10 lakh crore, far outstripping other South Indian states. The administrative machinery has completely collapsed under the weight of internal factionalism and massive institutional scams,” Vijayendra criticized.
The BJP leader specifically highlighted major financial irregularities within the Valmiki Development Corporation and the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scandals, labeling Karnataka as the only state where frustrated government officials were being driven to suicide due to systemic pressure. He dismissed recent by-election victories as inaccurate metrics of governance quality, maintaining that the state was being driven to bankruptcy.
Vijayendra further warned that finding a replacement for Siddaramaiah would trigger absolute chaos and uncontrollable rebellion within the local Congress unit. He claimed that by forcing out their most senior leader, the Congress high command has publicly admitted its own government’s failure, signaling the beginning of the party’s nationwide decline. “Once this leadership transition happens, the internal strife will intensify, and the Congress will lose its grip on power in Karnataka, leading straight to early elections,” he predicted.
