Anger and grief have grown in Panna district after a soil cave-in during MGNREGA well excavation killed five labourers in Nayapurwa village under Biharpurwa Gram Panchayat in Ajaygarh police limits. The incident on Tuesday sparked protests as families refused last rites, demanding FIR against officials and higher compensation for the victims. They allege negligence in safety measures and say the administration failed to prevent the fatal collapse despite ongoing work.
