Congress leader Doddasomanahalli Ramachandraiah has urged the party high command to appoint D.K. Shivakumar as the Chief Minister of Karnataka and to include senior MLA H.C. Balakrishna in the state cabinet.
He said that D.K. Shivakumar has played a key role in strengthening the Congress party in Karnataka and has worked tirelessly during elections, including bypolls and neighbouring state campaigns, ensuring party victories. Ramachandraiah added that Shivakumar, a leader from the Vokkaliga community, enjoys strong public support and his leadership would help in the faster implementation of the Mekedatu project, which is important for the region. He also demanded that senior MLA H.C. Balakrishna, who has represented Magadi constituency five times, be given a ministerial position this time, noting his long service and contribution to local development. He further said that people of Magadi constituency expect Balakrishna to be included in the cabinet and urged the high command to consider both leaders for stronger governance and balanced regional development in Karnataka politics. He said this will strengthen Congress in the state and bring faster development to Magadi region he further added.
Several local Congress workers, public representatives and supporters were present during the interaction in Magadi town. Speakers said that the appeal reflects growing demand within the constituency for better representation in the state cabinet. Ramachandraiah urged the Congress high command to take a positive decision soon and ensure that both leaders are given due recognition, saying it will help strengthen the party organisation, improve governance and speed up development works in Magadi and across Karnataka in the coming days.
