Wadi villagers protest frequent power supply failures

Kalaburagi

Residents in Wadi under Kalaburagi district have expressed strong anger over the poor condition of the 33 KV Chittapur–Alahalli power line, which has been causing frequent and prolonged power outages across 22 villages and 23 tandas. Locals said even light rain or wind disrupts electricity supply, leaving entire areas without power for hours. They accused GESCOM of negligence, citing outdated poles, worn-out conductors, and poor maintenance of the feeder line. Villagers also complained about lack of tree trimming and inadequate staffing at the substation. They demanded urgent modernization of infrastructure, replacement of old equipment, and reliable power supply services.
