Patna teacher aspirants detained amid protests

Police detained over 50 student leaders and teacher job aspirants in Bihar’s capital ahead of a planned protest demanding release of Bihar Teacher Recruitment Exam phase four notifications. Security was tightened near Patna College, with gates locked and water cannons deployed to prevent gatherings. Protesters alleged long delays in recruitment, leaving thousands of vacancies unfilled for years. Some leaders, including Rinkle Yadav and Khushboo Pathak, were detained. Officials said action was taken to maintain law and order during exams. The education minister said the notification would be released soon and urged students to remain calm officially soon.
