NEW DELHI
Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind president Maulana Arshad Madani said that declaring the cow as India’s “national animal” could help reduce hate politics and violence linked to cow protection issues. He said ongoing disputes around the cow have led to mob lynching incidents and tensions between communities. Madani argued that if the cow is given national status, it could bring a permanent solution to such conflicts. He also pointed to what he called double standards in different states regarding beef laws. He urged uniform implementation of laws across the country and called for an end to violence in the name of religion.
