NEW DELHI
Union Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said India has enough fuel reserves for nearly two months and currently faces no shortage despite global energy disruptions. Speaking at the Confederation of Indian Industry summit, he warned that government-run oil companies could suffer losses of up to Rs 1 lakh crore in one quarter if crude oil prices remain high and fuel rates stay unchanged. He added that petrol, diesel, and LPG are being sold below cost. Puri also said India has increased domestic LPG production significantly, strengthening the country’s ability to manage the ongoing international energy crisis effectively and smoothly.
