NEW DELHI
Government-backed platform DigiHaat has launched a new marketplace called “Swadeshi” to promote Made-in-Bharat products and support local businesses. Powered by the Open Network for Digital Commerce, the platform offers handmade crafts, traditional clothes, home décor items, and food grains. Officials said the initiative removes middlemen, helping artisans and farmers earn better profits. More than 2,000 artisans and 1,100 farmer groups have already joined the platform. DigiHaat recently crossed two million downloads and also provides metro ticket booking, food delivery, and taxi services, making it a growing digital hub for everyday needs across India.
