Officials said 17 people were injured, and all were quickly admitted to the district hospital for treatment. One patient was shifted to KIMS Hubli for advanced care while most others are recovering well.

Doctors said about 11 patients may be discharged soon, and the remaining will go home within two to three days. The incident was reported to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who approved up to Rs 50,000 assistance for medical expenses. Government officials said additional help will be given if treatment costs increase further.

Minister H. K. Patil stressed that safety at fairs and public events must be given top priority. He said organisers should take full responsibility and follow strict safety measures to prevent such accidents. Authorities also discussed limiting the duration of the Tontadarya Mutt fair, to be decided by committee members. Plans are underway to build a bus stand at the hospital campus for better public convenience. He also highlighted archaeological progress at Lakkundi, where over 1,300 remains have been identified. Excavations worth about Rs 10 crore are continuing in the historically important site. Minister Patil expressed condolences on the passing of former minister D. Sudhakar, calling it a great loss to central Karnataka.

He praised Sudhakar’s public service and support for farmers, poor people, and regional development. Officials and public representatives attended the hospital visit and reviewed arrangements for patients’ care. District administration said monitoring will continue until all injured recover fully and safety checks will be strengthened across public events in Gadag district. People have been urged to cooperate with authorities and follow guidelines during fairs to avoid future accidents.

Medical staff confirmed that treatment is being provided free or with government support and patients are responding positively to care. Officials remain on alert throughout the recovery period monitoring. Authorities assured that public safety standards will be reviewed and improved to prevent similar incidents in future events across district.
