The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced an exciting shortlist for the Men’s Player of the Month award for April, featuring standout performers from Bangladesh, Oman, and the UAE. Fast-bowling sensation Nahid Rana, Oman’s veteran leader Jatinder Singh, and newcomer Ajay Kumar are all in the running following a month of record-breaking displays.
Bangladesh’s 23-year-old speedster, Nahid Rana, earned his spot after a dominant “Player of the Series” performance against New Zealand. Rana spearheaded his team’s 2-1 series victory, claiming eight wickets with an impressive economy rate. His career-best haul of 5/32 in Mirpur was the deciding factor in securing a crucial win for the hosts.
Oman captain Jatinder Singh made history in April during the Cricket World Cup League 2. Singh amassed 266 runs at a blistering strike rate, highlighted by a massive 139 runs against Nepal. This knock officially stands as the highest individual ODI score ever recorded by an Oman batter. His leadership and consistent run-scoring have kept Oman as a serious contender on the global stage.
Joining them is UAE’s left-arm seamer Ajay Kumar, who enjoyed a fairytale start to his international career. In his first two ODIs, Kumar took nine wickets, including a remarkable 6/35 against Oman. His ability to swing the ball and maintain a tight economy has quickly made him one of the most talked-about emerging talents in Associate cricket.
The winner will be decided by a global vote involving fans and a panel of experts. As the game continues to grow, these three nominees represent the incredible depth of talent currently rising through the international ranks.
