The board meetings of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and Sir Ratan Tata Trust, key shareholders of Tata Sons, have been deferred to May 16 amid ongoing legal and governance discussions. The meetings were earlier scheduled for May 8 and were expected to review board representation and nominee directors. However, they were postponed shortly before commencement, marking the second rescheduling. Sources said internal differences persist over issues such as governance structure and the long-standing debate on whether Tata Sons should remain privately held or consider listing. The Trusts continue to deliberate on aligning board decisions with broader institutional views and long-term strategic direction.
