LUCKNOW
Indian cricket legend Cheteshwar Pujara believes a new star is rising on the horizon. Following a brilliant performance in the IPL, Pujara claimed that young fast bowler Prince Yadav is fast-tracking his way toward a spot in the Indian World Cup squad. The praise comes after Prince led the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to a thrilling nine-run victory against Bengaluru.
In a high-pressure, rain-shortened match, Prince showed nerves of steel. He finished with impressive figures of 3-33, taking the massive wicket of Virat Kohli with what experts called a “divine delivery.” This ball hit the seam perfectly, leaving one of the world’s best batters stunned. Prince also dismissed dangerous hitters Devdutt Padikkal and Jitesh Sharma, effectively breaking the back of the run chase while defending a target of 213.
Pujara noted that Prince has shown incredible growth over the last two seasons, proving he can handle the heat of the “death overs.” He emphasized that Prince possesses the rare combination of raw talent and a calm temperament. “That World Cup dream he talks about will not be far from reality,” Pujara remarked, urging the youngster to keep following his process.
Former New Zealand bowler Mitchell McClenaghan also joined the chorus of fans, praising the pacer’s extra speed and tactical execution. With the backing of cricket greats and a knack for taking big wickets, Prince Yadav is quickly becoming the name on every selector’s lips as the national team looks toward its future.
