Member of Parliament B. Y. Raghavendra has said that he is committed to the development of tourism in the district and assured sincere efforts to provide the necessary basic infrastructure locally to support it.

He was speaking after inaugurating the newly built Lord Sahyadri Resort near Ambaligola reservoir, located between Anandapura and Shikaripura near Byrapura in Shivamogga district on Friday morning.

Raghavendra said that it is commendable to see such a large-scale investment in a second-tier city like Shivamogga for building a high-quality resort. He noted that the resort’s location near the Ambaligola reservoir is a major advantage and will significantly boost tourism development in the region.

He added that the project will strengthen tourism prospects in the area and help attract more visitors. He also stated that efforts will be made to introduce boating facilities at the Ambaligola reservoir, and appealed to entrepreneurs to support such initiatives.

The MP observed that although the resort is geographically located under the Sagara taluk, it is close to Shikaripura and well connected to both regions, making it beneficial for tourists visiting nearby attractions. He said such developments will further enhance the tourism potential of the district.

He emphasized that improving tourism infrastructure, including water management and basic amenities at the reservoir, is essential. He assured that steps would be taken in coordination with authorities to ensure proper development.

Several dignitaries, including resort representatives and local leaders, attended the inauguration ceremony.
