Burglars loot gold, cash from house near Bantwal

Burglars broke into a house at Goremar near Pacchinadka in Bantwal and decamped with gold ornaments, cash, and a silver idol. The theft came to light under the jurisdiction of Bantwal Town police station after neighbours noticed the front door open. The stolen valuables include gold earrings and rings weighing about 34 grams, cash of around ₹65,000, and a silver idol of Lord Krishna, along with money from a donation box. The total loss is estimated at over ₹4.3 lakh. The house owner, Prakash, works in a bakery in Kerala and visits home periodically, while his family was away at the time of the incident. Police and fingerprint experts inspected the scene and have begun an investigation.
