Mohan Yadav on Thursday flagged off the first batch of the ‘Somnath Swabhiman Yatra’ from Rani Kamalapati Railway Station, launching a special pilgrimage initiative aimed at connecting devotees from across the state with the historic Somnath Temple.

Hundreds of pilgrims participated in the inaugural journey, which the Chief Minister described as a reflection of India’s enduring spiritual traditions, cultural unity, and collective faith. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from devotees, religious leaders, and government officials.

During the ceremony, Mohan Yadav also performed ritual worship of sacred ‘kalash’ filled with water collected from 21 major rivers across India. He stated that the ritual symbolised national integration, shared heritage, and the spiritual connection that binds different regions of the country together.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister paid tribute to Lord Somnath, describing the Jyotirlinga as a symbol of national pride and cultural identity. Referring to the religious significance of the temple, he said the Sindhu River touches the feet of Lord Shiva while the moon adorns his forehead, highlighting the deep spiritual symbolism associated with the shrine.

Yadav said the Somnath temple represents much more than a religious destination and stands as a symbol of India’s civilisational resilience and revival. He referred to historical invasions and periods of cultural turmoil, notin**Samrat Chaudhary Expands Cabinet With Thirty-Two New Ministers**
