Shidlaghatta to host grand Rama Shobha Yatra

SHIDLAGHATTA

A grand Sri Rama Shobha Yatra will be held in Shidlaghatta on June 7, with organisers announcing that preparations are underway to make the event large and devotional in nature. Posters for the programme were released at Sri Rama Temple in Fort Circle by Sri Rama Shobha Yatra Observance Trust.

Trust taluk president Venkatesh said the Shobha Yatra is aimed at bringing people together and promoting unity among Hindus. He said the motto “We are all Hindus, we are all one” should be followed in practice through such community events.

According to organisers, the procession will begin at 11 am from the Sri Anjaneyaswamy Temple near Hanumanthapura Gate on the outskirts of the town. Devotees have been requested to decorate streets and homes with rangoli, flowers, and traditional decorations. They also encouraged participation with tableaux, costumes, and devotional displays along the route.

A public stage programme will be held at 5 pm near the KSRTC bus stand, where speakers are expected to address the gathering and speak about religious and cultural themes.

Organiser Manjunath said the event is not linked to any political party and is meant for all communities to participate together. He said leaders from different parties have also extended support to ensure the success of the programme. He urged people to attend in large numbers without differences of caste, religion, or political affiliation.

Trust members including Prakash, Anil Kumar BK, Bharath, Ravindra, and others were present during the announcement. Organisers said thousands of devotees are expected to take part, making the Shobha Yatra one of the major cultural gatherings in the region this year.
