Ramanagara MLA launches road drainage works project

MLA said CM Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar sanctioned special grants for urban and minority welfare, with multiple schemes underway and more works planned soon

Ramanagara MLA H A Iqbal Hussain on Thursday launched road and drainage development works in Vivekanandanagar, stating that the area is being upgraded with better basic facilities under a new grant of about Rs 5 crore. He performed the traditional shovel ritual before starting works near Rayaradoddy Circle and BGS Circle.

Speaking to reporters, the MLA said Vivekanandanagar is a large ward that requires continuous development and more funding. He said several works have already been taken up in the area after he became MLA, and fresh projects are now being started again to improve roads and drainage systems.

He added that priority is being given not only to rural development but also to urban infrastructure, especially in fast-growing city areas. According to him, basic needs such as education, health, housing, and transport infrastructure are being focused on to improve living conditions. He assured that quality roads would be constructed under the new works.

The MLA also said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar have sanctioned special development grants, including funds for urban and minority welfare projects. He mentioned that multiple schemes worth several crores are being implemented in the region and more works will begin soon.

He instructed officials and contractors to maintain quality and complete works on time. During the event, a few local leaders from the JD(S) also joined the Congress party in the presence of the MLA.

The programme was attended by several public representatives, municipal officials, and local leaders who welcomed the development works and expressed hope for improved civic facilities in the ward in the coming months.
