Deputy Commissioner Dr. Anand K. has announced that ration rice for May and June 2026 under the National Food Security Act has been supplied to all fair price shops in the district and will be distributed during May. Beneficiaries under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana will receive 70 kg of rice per ration card for two months, while BPL cardholders will get 5 kg per member per month, totaling 10 kg for the period. Two biometric authentications are mandatory for collection. The Anna Bhagya Scheme rice will be distributed in June. The DC warned against black market sale of ration rice and said BPL cards may be cancelled for violations.
