Police launch a massive crackdown in Uttara Kannada to eradicate predatory “meter interest” rackets following Jameer Ahmed’s murder.

Following the brutal murder of Jameer Ahmed Dargawale, a notorious figure in the “meter interest” racket, police have launched a massive crackdown to end illegal lending in Uttara Kannada. Superintendent of Police Deepan has initiated a master plan to eradicate these predatory gangs in Mundagod, Haliyal, and Dandeli.

The investigation into Jameer’s death has revealed that the illegal interest business is becoming active once again. So far, seven people have been arrested in connection with the murder, which is believed to be a direct result of disputes within the lending racket. Under the leadership of Sirsi DySP Geeta Patil, a special team is now gathering detailed evidence to identify everyone involved in this criminal network.

The crackdown has also caused panic within the police department. Investigations suggest that several local officers may have been supporting the illegal business. SP Deepan is now reviewing Jameer’s mobile phone records, including WhatsApp messages and call logs, to identify officers who were in constant contact with the kingpin. This move has sent shivers down the spines of those who secretly protected the gang.

In a bold move to restore peace, the police have already issued official orders to deport several known racketeers from the district this week. While the public has welcomed this strict action against the “meter interest” menace, the ongoing investigation continues to expose a deep web of corruption. The police remain committed to cleaning up the district and ensuring these illegal gangs never rise again.
