Congress protests against gas price hike

Block Congress Committee and Youth Congress Committee in Karkala staged a protest in front of the taluk office in Udupi district today against the hike in gas prices. Party leaders and workers expressed anger over the central government’s price hike. Speaking on the occasion Congress leader Uday Shetty Muniyalu criticised the BJP government which came to power with the promise of achche din and said it had given koche din to the people. He alleged that the government does not listen to the cries of the people even though common man is suffering due to rise in gas petrol and diesel prices.

Block Congress president Subhadha Rao alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the first Prime Minister to hike gas prices in such a big way. He said that the central government has completely failed to control the price rise in the country. He added that people are demanding relief from rising fuel costs and immediate action from the government during ongoing protest at taluk office.
