Chitradurga gears up for grand BSY tribute event

CHITRADURGA

Preparations are in full swing in Kotenad, Chitradurga, for a major “Abhimanotsava” event being organised to honour former Chief Minister and senior BJP leader B.S. Yediyurappa. The programme is scheduled to be held on May 9 at the spacious ground behind Madara Chennaiah Mutt.

Party workers and supporters of Yediyurappa, who is credited with building the BJP’s base in South India, are organising the event as a tribute to his long political journey. Organisers said the celebration is meant to recognise his role in mentoring leaders and strengthening the party across the state.

A large stage and a special German-style pandal are being set up at the venue. Preparations for seating, food, and crowd management are being carried out on a large scale. Local MLA S R Gupta visited the site and reviewed the arrangements. Several leaders including Vishwanath, Munirathna, and Gopalaiah also inspected the preparations and discussed event planning with organisers.

Special attention is being given to arrangements for drinking water, buttermilk, and meals for the expected crowd. Organisers said these steps are necessary due to high temperatures and large participation of party workers and supporters.

The event is expected to draw attention from across the state as it highlights Yediyurappa’s influence within the party and among his supporters. Organisers say the gathering will reflect unity among party workers and celebrate his political contributions.

With final arrangements underway, Kotenad is preparing to host a large political gathering that supporters describe as a significant show of strength and respect for the veteran leader ahead of the scheduled programme.
