Belagavi police deport eighteen rowdy sheeters

Belagavi Gang Crackdown

BELAGAVI

In a major crackdown on organized crime, eighteen rowdy sheeters have been deported from Belagavi district to restore public order. District Superintendent of Police K. Ramarajan issued a stern warning, stating that only “good boys” who follow the law are welcome to stay in the region.

The deported individuals were reportedly involved in serious crimes, including murder, attempted murder, and illegal gambling. Beyond physical violence, the police emphasized that these groups used social media to glorify criminal lifestyles. Under names like “Tagaru Boys” and “King Maker,” they uploaded videos featuring gang-style music and weapons to intimidate the public and influence local youth.

SP Ramarajan noted that some criminals even used minor children in their videos to project power, a trend the department finds intolerable. “Walking around with swords and cutting cakes with knives on social media is not a badge of honor, it is a crime,” he explained during a media conference.

The periods of exile range from one month to an entire year. Notable deportations include Gangappa Nayak, Sanju Mestri, and Hanamant Madar, who received a one-year banishment. The police department is currently monitoring all digital platforms to identify anyone else promoting rowdyism. Parents have been urged to keep their children away from such activities to ensure a peaceful future. The message from the district administration is clear, follow the law or face immediate removal.
