District Collector Dr. Suresh B Itnal has instructed officials to speed up preparations for the upcoming Kanakagiri Utsav and ensure smooth conduct of the festival.
He chaired a meeting of officers at the Taluk Panchayat Hall in Kanakagiri, where progress of various committees was reviewed. This was the third review meeting held to assess readiness for the event.
The Collector said officials must clearly understand their responsibilities and complete tasks without confusion or delay. He stressed that coordination among departments is essential for the success of the festival.
He directed the reception committee to focus on guest arrangements including accommodation, food, transport and proper hospitality. The cultural committee was asked to ensure timely payment to artists to avoid any confusion.
The stage committee was instructed to arrange proper barricading for crowd control and maintain discipline during events. The food committee was told to ensure cleanliness, hygiene and quality in food preparation with support from local organizations.
He also asked the sports committee to maintain transparency in team details and payments. The accommodation committee was directed to appoint nodal officers to manage room bookings for artists, players and media personnel.
The transport committee was told to ensure proper vehicle maintenance and fuel arrangements. The publicity committee was asked to carry out wide promotion using banners and posters.
Special instructions were given to the security committee to ensure safety during helicopter rides and manage large crowds effectively. The health committee was directed to set up an OPD at the venue, stock medicines and keep ambulances ready round the clock.
The infrastructure committee was asked to clean the town, repair roads, arrange water supply and build temporary toilets for visitors. Officials from police, municipal bodies and various departments attended the meeting and assured full cooperation.
