Bharat Innovates 2026 gained global attention as India showcased its deep-tech startup programme at a high-level roadshow in Paris ahead of the upcoming conclave in Nice, France. The initiative aims to connect Indian innovation with global investors, research institutions, and industry leaders.
The Paris event highlighted India’s rapidly growing startup ecosystem and its strong linkage with higher education and research-driven innovation. It brought together representatives from the Ministry of Education, the Embassy of India in Paris, and the Confederation of Indian Industry, along with over 50 participants from French business and innovation networks.
Key French institutions such as La French Tech, VivaTech, ESCP Business School, ESSEC Business School, INRIA, and members of the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce also participated, along with venture capital firms, legal experts, and startup ecosystem stakeholders.
Officials from India, including senior representatives from the Ministry of Education, presented the objectives and investment opportunities under Bharat Innovates 2026. They emphasised strengthening international collaboration under the India–France Special Global Strategic Partnership and expanding global engagement in frontier technologies.
The programme will focus on 13 advanced technology sectors, including artificial intelligence, semiconductors, next-generation communications, advanced materials, biotechnology, space and defence technologies, and Industry 4.0 manufacturing systems. It aims to position India as a global hub for innovation-driven growth.
As part of the initiative, India will take 120 deep-tech startups to France for pilot projects, co-development opportunities, research partnerships, investment collaborations, and market access.
The conclave, announced earlier by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the India–France Year of Innovation, is scheduled to be held from June 14–16 at the Palais des Expositions in Nice, marking a major step in global startup collaboration.
