The Tourism Department has asked all homestay and resort owners in the district to register their properties within 15 days. Officials found many places running without approval, which breaks rules under the Karnataka Tourism Business Act, 2015. Registration is needed to ensure tourist safety, better service, and proper management. Owners must submit documents like Aadhaar, residence proof, police clearance, village panchayat letter, and property records. Applications should be filed at the District Administration Bhavan in Haveri. Those who fail to register on time may face a fine of Rs. 10,000, officials warned.
