District Collector Dr. Vijayamahantesh Danammanavara has directed health officials to ensure quality healthcare services for people visiting government hospitals. He said patients must receive proper treatment at the local level without unnecessary delay.
He was speaking during the district health campaign review meeting and surveillance committee meeting held at the District Collector’s office. He instructed taluk health officers to closely monitor health conditions and provide timely guidance, especially to pregnant women.
He said details of pregnant and lactating women must be updated in official portals without delay. Special attention should be given to high-risk pregnancies, and such patients must be admitted for proper care when needed.
The Collector emphasized that minor health issues should be resolved at taluk and primary health centers themselves. He urged officials to use available technology effectively and adopt a proactive approach instead of giving excuses.
He also directed officials to achieve 100 percent targets under family welfare programmes by organizing awareness camps in different areas. He stressed the need to educate rural people to seek immediate treatment in cases like snake and dog bites.
He reviewed progress of major health programmes including leprosy eradication, tuberculosis control, and early disease detection initiatives.
District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr. Jayananda informed that 75 percent of deliveries are taking place in government hospitals, while 25 percent occur in private hospitals.
Several senior doctors, taluk health officers, and department officials attended the meeting and discussed steps to improve healthcare delivery across the district.
