In a major move to boost regional travel, the Bihar Government has officially issued a tender for the reconstruction of Raxaul Airport.
Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary announced that this project will transform the Champaran region by connecting the state’s border areas to national and international flight networks.
The reconstruction plan focuses on essential airside infrastructure, including the building of a modern runway, taxiway, and apron. Engineering consultancy services are now being sought to kickstart the work. Officials believe that a functional airport in Raxaul will breathe new life into the local economy by making trade and tourism much easier for residents and visitors alike.
Chief Minister Choudhary credited the “double-engine government” for the progress, stating that Bihar is now ready to reach new heights of development. This announcement comes during a busy diplomatic week for the state, as the Chief Minister also welcomed Vietnamese President To Lam to the historic city of Gaya. The President’s visit is expected to strengthen international ties and promote cultural tourism in the region.
For the people of Champaran, the revival of Raxaul Airport has been a long-standing dream. By improving air connectivity, the government hopes to attract more investment and provide faster travel options for the public. As the tender process begins, authorities are focused on ensuring the project moves forward swiftly to bring modern aviation facilities to one of Bihar’s most strategic border locations.
